Tea with Squids!
Littlekuriboh has been a wonderful person to me, and that’s what I can share: my personal experience and nothing more.

I’m not writing this because I like to give my opinion randomly in this kind of fights (I fucking hate Internet argues, I actually think it’s one of the lowest point humanity have finally reached. Being upset standing all grumpy in front of a screen… it’s just stupid)

But that’s not important.

I feel like I owed something to Littlekuriboh, and I don’t like to hear here and there that he is an awful person. We have been in touch for about a year because of collaboration for designs and illustrations. When you are not a professional artist is damn rare to find someone who treats you like one (my last professional working experience can be summed in “Hey there! Do you still have the picture you did for us, and we’ve never paid you for? We’ve lost it! lol” tells the publisher house about two years after I had finished the job)
He could have easily just ask me for drawings: I’m a fan, it’s not right but I would have been happy to do it.
Instead it’s been the best working experience I’ve ever had. Best boss: super kind, patient, always interested in how the job is going without making you feel any pressure.

And every single artist who has worked with him can confirm what I’ve just said.

But there’s more: he helped me to be more confident in what able to do.

As I’ve said I’m not doing this for yu gi oh/ygotas cause (I couldn’t care less) I’m doing this because of the guy.

I know nothing about his personal life (because it’s not one of my business), but I know about relationships and break ups.
About every single brake up is traumatic, and if you ask the other person, it  will surely describe the ex partner like Satan.
And that’s because none of us knows how to treat those kind of situations. In those moments we are fragile and we could also make mistakes.

But you know which are two words that should never stand in the same sentence? Yo gi oh and personal life.

The gay jokes issue?
One of my closest friends is gay: I’ve showed him Ygotas, he loved it and we watched all the series together.
The end.

And here’s another matter that I don’t like to use as defense: I watched yu gi oh when I was 13 and I… thought it was about a bunch of kids who plays… well… merchandising. I was a child and I thought it was a poor poor show.
Then, years later I’ve found ygotas and I’ve immediately loved it. I found out that Littlekuribo did it because he loved the show… why do this grown up guy who looks pretty smart should love a show that I found stupid when I was 13?
So I watched the show again: it was full of very interesting subplot and characters, in a fascinating Egyptian style. Maybe the show was a little deeper and darker than what I saw the first time. Yeah, it was pretty damn cool.

Guess what? If it wasn’t for Ygotas I would still think that yu gi oh is a show made just for selling expensive useless merchandising to kids.
Awful, isn’t it?

“But you don’t know how it feels to have a super serious show and have someone who ruined it for you” (…w-what?)
I’m a huge fan of Berserk.
Berserk has a super serious and tragic story, and people go nuts when someone makes fun of it.
I discovered Ygotas thanks to hbi2k’s Berserk The Abridged Series, where everybody is gay and all those things that makes haters hate.

Please throw more shit on Berserk, because it’s fucking hilarious and I love it.

For the rest, just think about this: you are trying to break a guy  self-esteem and stop him from doing something that he loves (and a lot of other people love) for a cartoon (an anime, sorry! That’s makes the thing much more important!)
